Section Introduction Heat activated films are nitrile phenolic based thermoplastics offering high bond strength combined with high temperature stability. Similar to VHB's in bond strengths these products have again been designed to replace mechanical fixings. (welding, rivets, screws)
To use the product having first removed the protective liner the film is placed between the two substrates to be bonded. The bond is then made immediately either using a heat press, a hot roll laminator, hot shoe thermode or similar equipment. Widely used in foil blocking, brake and clutch lining mounting, PCB, microchip mounting applications.
May be die cut or sheeted to customised shapes and sizes.
